Employee Assistance Program
The New School offers faculty and their household members Employee Assitance Program and work/life benefits through Aetna Resources for Living. Inquiries and services are provided at no cost to you and are completely confidential.
Aetna Resources for Living
You are entitled to eight face-to-face counseling sessions per year, per concern. Counseling sessions can be conducted in person or online with televideo. Aetna is prepared to help you on a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to:
- Emotional well-being
- Stress and anxiety management
- Relationship support
- Work and life balance
- Grief and loss
- Alcohol and substance abuse
In addition, you are entitled to a free 30-minute consultation for each new legal or financial issue. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Elder law and estate planning
- Family or domestic law
- Wills and other legal document preparation
- Budgeting
- Identity theft and fraud
- Retirement or other financial planning
Through Aetna, you will have access to a full range of tools, self-assessments, and resources to help you with your day-to-day needs, including but not limited to:
- Childcare, parenting, and adoption
- Elder care
- Home repair and improvement assistance
- Special needs
- Pet care
- Live and recorded webinars
