Rubric Examples
Rubrics streamline grading and reduce subjectivity. They’re also a valuable thing to share with students since they make clear and relatively unambiguous how a particular activity or exercise will be evaluated.
The Breakfast in Bed Rubric
This below is a silly – but pointed – example of how to create a rubric to assess the delivery of breakfast in bed. It articulates the constituent parts of breakfast in bed as food, presentation and comfort. Then it articulates the level of development or quality for beginning, developing, accomplished and exemplary completion of each component part with, of course, exemplary demonstration of “comfort” being “woken gently and lovingly.”
