Part-Time Faculty Union

The New School works closely and collaboratively with the unions that represent its employees. Today, there are two unions representing part-time faculty on our campus,. Jointly reached contracts are in place, or collective bargaining is underway, with each of these unions.

Part-Time Faculty – ACT-UAW Local 7902

Work Group: Part-time faculty except those teaching at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music

All part-time faculty are required to complete and return this membership card in order to teach at The New School. All employees who either belong in this Union or supervise such employees must thoroughly review the contract between the University and Local 7902.

Part-Time Jazz Faculty – AFM Local 802

American Federation of Musicians – Local 802

Work Group: Part-time faculty at the School of Jazz
Employees Represented: 82

All faculty members who belong to the union and all supervisors of these faculty members are required to thoroughly review the contract between the university and Local 802.
