Guide To Teaching and Learning

What Are Rubrics?

A rubric is simply a schema that articulates how work, processes, or performance will be evaluated. They help reduce subjectivity, promote transparency, and make evaluation criteria clear. Rubrics can be used to assess student learning, review grant proposals, evaluate candidates, appraise employee performance, judge projects, and even determine the quality of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
